Every student leaves Phoenix with a plan. Use the tools below to work out what you enjoy, then compare real jobs before you talk it through with your tutor.

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship lets you earn a wage while you train and study towards a real qualification. You can start from age 16, and there are apprenticeships in everything from construction and care to business, IT and engineering.

How to find an apprenticeship

  1. 1. Go to the government’s official service, ‘Find an apprenticeship’.
  2. 2. Search by job type and by how far you are willing to travel.
  3. 3. Create an account so you can save vacancies and apply to more than one.
  4. 4. Check the level, the wage and the training days before you apply.
  5. 5. Ask your tutor to help you with your application and interview.

Stoke-on-Trent YP Careers

Stoke-on-Trent Young People’s Careers is the local careers service for young people across the city. They bring together local employers, colleges and training providers, and share apprenticeship vacancies, open events, job fairs and work experience opportunities in and around Stoke on Trent.
