Tutor programme

Monday

Weekly Rewards & Community Breakfast

Weekly rewards ceremony recognising student success along with a community breakfast to provide an informal opportunity for safe and well checks between tutors and their tutees.

Tuesday

Roads to Riches & Current Affairs

Reflecting on performance and target setting followed by short literacy, numeracy, current affairs activities.

Wednesday

Reading for Pleasure

Reading for pleasure builds vocabulary, concentration and confidence. It widens what students know about the world, supports every other subject, and gives them a calm, shared start to the day.

Thursday

Oracy based on SMSC principals.

Speaking well is a life skill. Oracy sessions build the confidence to explain an opinion, listen respectfully and disagree politely - preparing students for interviews, college and work.

Friday

Moral Dilemma (P4C)

Activities with a strong focus on speaking and listening.
